Downloading your driving licence online is now fast, simple, and hassle-free. How to Download Your Driving Licence via Parivahan Sewa

You can conveniently download your driving licence from trusted platforms like Parivahan Sewa and DigiLocker. Here’s how:

step-by-Step: Download with DL Number

  1. Visit the Parivahan Sewa portal: https://parivahan.gov.in
  2. Click on "Driving Licence Related Services."
  3. Select your state from the list and proceed.
  4. On the next page, click on "Print Driving Licence (Soft Copy)."
  5. Enter your Driving Licence Number, Date of Birth, and the displayed captcha code.
  6. Click Submit to view and download your DL PDF.

Driving Licence Download Using Mobile Number

Currently, direct download using only a mobile number isn’t available via Parivahan. However, if your DL is linked to DigiLocker, you can easily fetch it:

  1. Open the DigiLocker app or visit digilocker.gov.in
  2. Log in using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and OTP.
  3. Go to "Issued Documents."
  4. Search for "Ministry of Road Transport and Highways."
  5. Your driving licence will appear—tap to view and download it.

✅ Note: The digital driving licence from DigiLocker is legally valid across India.

How to Download and Print Your Driving Licence PDF

  1. Open the downloaded DL PDF file.
  2. Verify details like Name, DL Number, DOB, Validity, and Photo.
  3. Print it using a laser or inkjet printer on A4 paper or card.
  4. You can laminate it for added durability.
  5. For Smart Card Driving Licence, if lost, visit the RTO for reissue.

Documents Required to Download Driving Licence

Typically, you don't need any documents just to download a soft copy. However, in case of reissue or a new licence, you may need:

  • Driving Licence Number (DL Number)
  • Date of Birth
  • Aadhaar-linked Mobile Number (for DigiLocker access)
